Welcome to Hedge & Hog Prints

Our name has quite a story behind it. While my eldest was growing up, our favourite was to do lots of arty projects together and one of it was creating little storybooks. We both used to come up with little stories and then together make some sketches. Honestly we had such a giggle together because they used to be the silliest stories ever, for instance this one about a little pig stuck in a hedge and rescued by a hedgehog was one of her absolute favourites. This name, hence, represented all that was important to me in this brand - families, rituals and traditions, creating and making things together, having a laugh, and quirky humour in everyday mundane things, completely integral to our lives.

So, we are all about traditional techniques of printmaking and modern contemporary designs, women's rights and British slangs all wrapped together under the umbrella of integrity, quality and reliability!

Whether you are looking to buy your first art piece for your new home, or add to your growing collection, a perfectly unique card for someone special, or a gift that will become part of someone's home and legacy & delight them for years to come, then this is the right place for you.

I love creating bespoke products so if you have an idea for something more personal, do feel free to get in touch. I'd be happy to work with you. Many of the pieces can also be personalised with individual initials and names using hand lettering and calligraphy to make it even more special, so do let me know.

A little about me

I’m Pragya, an architect, designer, linocut printmaker, and now the creative force behind Hedge and Hog Prints. After working in academia for several years, I was inspired to create something caring, as well as socially and environmentally aware. As a Mum to three girls, I am passionate about creating beauty in our lives through my designs, while also creating products that inspire them and others to think, dream and smile.
I grew up in India, and travelled widely, and my experiences and travels have influenced my art and designs. I now live near the sea with my Scottish husband, my three girls, my dog and my cat, and work from my home studio. Often my designs have Scottish motifs and landscapes, my pets feature widely in my linocut prints, and I love creating art prints for children’s rooms. My designs also reflect my love for the British sense of humour, the quirky and whimsical in language, celebrating local slang, literature and places around us. Both classical and modern art and architecture is a huge source of inspiration.
